Wow! You found the secret entrance. Either I’ve told you about these pages or you’re interested in the Livestrong band. I wear this band everyday and plan to wear it as long as I live. I support the foundation and the work they do to fight cancer and Livestrong is a message I take to heart.
Here are a few bike rides I mapped out. Actually, if I’m not in the office between noon and one o’clock during the week, there’s a good chance I’m on one of these rides. If you’re ever in Camden and like to ride, feel free to ride some of these routes.
Bald Mountain Loop
Beech Hill Route This is a great climbing route - especially if you climb to Mill street and ride out to Tolman Pond on Route 90.
Chickawaukee Pond Loop I like this loop a lot. There are some good rolling climbs, some good newly paved roads with shoulders, and some great sections to open it up and fly. It’s about a 50 minute ride.
Howe Hill Loop This a nice easy ride that gradually climbs to scenic Howe Hill Road and traverses the North side of Bald Mountain. It’s about a 45-50 minute ride.
Megunticook Lake Loop
Melvin Heights Loop
Ragged Mountain Loop - This ride climbs for the first 5 miles and gets progressively steeper - it’s a good workout! My goal is to make it to the green mailbox on Gillette Rd (the “summit”) in under 25 minutes. It’s a screaming downhill from there. Once you get on Rt. 17 it levels out and then there’s a gentle downhill that seduces you into a 35 mph sprint to Rt. 90. Nice rollers all the way home. I did this ride in just over 50 minutes and I wasn’t slacking one bit.
Sea to Lakes Loop
West Rockport Loop
